Getting kids started in dance classes can really help them grow in many different aspects of their lives. Kids can have a lot of fun while learning how to dance. However, parents that have to stay may not being having so much fun. While watching you child dance will bring joy to most parents, it can get a little boring sitting on the sidelines. Most classes only last about an hour, so you can’t go home. Here are a few ideas that parents can do to pass the time.

Read

Reading is a perfect way to pass the time while waiting for you child to finish their dance class. You have just the right amount of time to finish up that book you have been reading. Maybe start a new book or bring a magazine that interests you.

Socialize with Other Parents

If you like talking to others, then try talking with the other parents. But remember to be quiet, so you don’t interrupt the class. You can get to know some of your kid’s friend’s parents. This can help start a dance community of parents. Maybe one day you can’t drive you child, then one of the others might me able to. You can learn about other events going on in the community. You can make some really good friends.

Journal

Writing in a journal is a great way to get your thoughts together. Just start writing. You may be surprised at what comes out. Get out your feeling and put them on paper. You can even write about how your child is doing, and later on show them what you saw when they were dancing.

Exercise

While your child is getting exercise, why don’t you. Walk or a jog is a great way to get some exercise. You child is preoccupied and safe, so take a little time to go for a little fresh air. You can get other parents to join you and can start making more friends.

You may also want to take in what the teacher is doing, so you can help your child if they ask. Make sure that you still make your child feel like you are there for them as well. With these few tips, dance classes can be fun for child and parent.

It’s been around for a few years now… but quickly has become one of the hottest trends to date is… Duct Tape.

Thats right!!! Who would of thought, just ordinary off-the-shelf duct tape would be so much fun.  It takes a little time to figure out, but once you master the art of the tape you will be able to create some of the world’s most unique items of function and fashion.  I decided to try it out and I just finished my first wallet and it took about 30 minutes. Even my husband was really impressed with it that he asked me to make him one.

The best part of the Duct Tape Crafts is that they never wear out, they can be repaired quickly with more duct tape and they come in some of the coolest colors and different patterns, so you’re not limited to just classic gray.  To register for a duct tape workshop at FunkyTown Parties or any other teacher workday or holiday workshops visit us at http://www.funkytownparties.com
